The media called Reagan insane for walking away from the table in Iceland when Gorby tried to change the terms at the last second.

Which one was remembered as a hero and which one was stuck doing Pizza Hur commercials because his own people hated him?

Yes but it is being taken out of context. In negotiating, in the diplomacy stage, when a loon dictator suddenly acts peace worthy, it is best to use honey rather than vinegar. The media and Joy Behar will never get it. Trump is overall saying he thinks Kim Jung Un is being sincere.
quote:

After months of deriding Kim Jong-Un as "little rocket man," a "maniac," and a "madman," President Donald Trump on Tuesday praised the North Korean dictator as a "very open" and "very honorable" negotiator.

"We're having very, very good discussions," Trump said during a bilateral meeting with President Emmanuel Macron of France in the White House Cabinet Room. "Kim Jong Un was — he really has been very open. I think very honorable, from everything we're seeing."

Asked to clarify his compliments at a joint press conference with Macron later on Tuesday, Trump said the tone of his yet-to-be-scheduled historic sit-down with Kim is "going to be very positive," and refused to speculate on the outcome the meeting.

“I hope that we will be able to deal in a very open and honorable fashion with North Korea,” he said.

The president added that “a meeting is a great thing,” but said his administration has not yet discussed any concessions for a potential summit with Kim, such as the release of three Americans who remain imprisoned in North Korea.

“Maybe good things will happen, and maybe we’re all wasting a lot of time,” Trump said.

The media simply wants him to look bad. They ignore all substance of what he says. How that isn’t obvious to any halfway intelligent human is baffling. They have gone every single way on the n Korea deal the only thing they have been consistent on is how poorly trump has handled it.

The most liberal person on my Facebook feed recently asked that we get rid of the term “liberal media”. Said it doesn’t exist anymore because Fox News. Its honestly sad how brainwashed people can be. And they are the loudest.

POTUS is legitimately on the verge of Nobel Peace Prize territory and the media can't stand it. Look at what Trump has said over and over again - this should have been handled decades ago by any number of previous administrations, but none have had the cojones to this point to stare this lunatic family down.

Didn’t the same media attack Pence for not honoring North Korea at the Olympics?
