I'd posit most macro-economists would say that move would benefit the economy.
Since it is so counter-intuitive it has zero chance of ever being enacted.
BTW, I would not call it dystopian. Much more utopian. Sort of like the CCC and WPA on steroids.

I’d like to know which economists you’re hanging around because the ones I know would tell you it’s not a sound idea at all, especially in this tight of a labor market.
