Work programs in the 60's and 70's brought Muslims into Europe on a large scale; it was a function of declining birth rates, welfare states and high rates of development. Agrarian cultures tend to have high birth rates and death rates. Post-industrial societies tend to have lower birth rates and low death rates. Muslim societies aren't even immune to the pattern of demographic transition (see Turkey's TFR).
