911 was called because he was brandishing the firearm.

I don't think he deserved to die either, but this narrative that Sterling has no blame in this is irritating. If Sterling would have followed the law, none of this would have happened. If he would have complied with the officer's commands, none of this would have happened. Sterling had ample chances to give up and didn't. I don't blame the cop. At the end of the day all he wants to do is go home to his family.

This also isn't the first time something like this occurred with Sterling. In 2009 the exact same incident occurred, except during the struggle a 9mm fell out of his waistband, thus ending the immediate danger.
