It's a bit all over the place and the finale is really just 25 minutes of graphic violence, but the soundtrack is incrdible and the "Wall" era of Berlin was stylized incredibly well.

Great soundtrack and a good with some nice all around performances.

They hit a solid double with it.

I enjoyed the movie. It didn’t blow me away but I thought it was well made.

I was expecting it to be more over the top than it was. They kept it somewhat believable. Although it is difficult to imagine a woman getting pounded by men 120 pounds heavier than her and watching her bounce back up. A few of those hits should have put her to sleep.

Watched it on HBO in a hotel room recently. Needed to go to sleep, but stayed up watching it until the end. Some good action and some good relationships in it.

So unnecessarily complex. They were trying way too hard.

this is true as well.

wasnt a big fan. of the 2 John Wick co-directors, it's clear that the better one stayed on with Wick 2. the script for this was atrocious. all the tropey twists and turns fooled no one.

2/5

I thought they did pretty good with the action. First of all, Charlize isn’t a tiny woman. Secondly, she was getting walloped and feeling it. She actually got “beaten” a couple of times. She used the environment and as hoc weapons whenever she could.

The one really long take where she was fighting on the stairs was freaking awesome looking.

I liked the movie. I felt that McAvoy only killed the french chick so the writers could have an excuse to kill him off.

I liked the feel of it.

I was very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this flick more than either of the Wick movies, but then again I was in college taking German History: 20th Century the semester the Wall came down. 3rd semester of German too, taught by a very pretty young Deutche mädchen, who also taught Russian, and spoke English without an accent.

I had most of the music on vinyl or tape at the time (the music was actually a couple years older than the movie was set). Loved ATF's Der Kommissar at the time, that brought a lot of good memories back.

Did a little pistol watching, too. I like the firearms of that era, and recognized a lot of pistols that I own. Like, every one in the film.

So, to me, the John Wick films are just Keanu action flicks, while this movie had a lot of nostalgia for me.

On the fence about this movie: Very good at some parts but the ending was like "What?? That doesn't mesh with what actually happened in the movie???"

Sounds like she was an undercover, triple agent.

I liked the movie. I was really impressed with the fight scenes. Bc they made her get her arse kicked and she had to use things to help plus her first shot was usually to take out a knee or to the nuts. I also liked how they got tired while fighting.

I really liked it. It's ridiculous and over the top, but so is John Wick, and it has the same producer/director and the same look and feel. Which invites obvious comparisons, and I feel Atomic Blonde is a lot more tongue in cheek, or at least a bit more levity, while John Wick is more dour. I like both, but a year later, I think I like Atomic Blonde more. the visuals have really stuck with me, and Charlize is cool as hell.

And James McAvoy flat owns this movie. He's having a grand time and he's perfectly described as "gone feral."
