The down and distance was 3rd and 5 and we’re under center

Don't need a glorified running back trying to play quarterback in the SEC. (As most of the "Rantknockers" seem to think)

Who's the glorified RB?

Nice.

I’m sure the DL coming at half-speed had nothing to do with it.

Very nice throw

The most significant thing would be the chemistry between MB and McMath. If MB doesn't trust McMath and thow to a spot (with accuracy) and if RM doesn't trust MB that's an interception.

LSU still is going to be a play action based offense just like basically every elite program in the country is. Our OL is still built to run block. Anyone expecting us to turn into Texas Tech is fooling themselves.

More importantly, great throw by Brennan.

It was an outstanding throw by Brennan and very good catch and run by McMath.

Seems like McMath is having a tremendous spring. Does anyone think he will get some playing time at wide receiver this season?

I'm a fan, he is a grown fricking man. Those strong, physical wideouts like him seem to prosper the most in the SEC. Him on a safety or small corner is a major mismatch.

Did you not like the play design? Play action left to get the safeties moving that way with an intermediate cross coming back right?

From what I could see I thought it was nice...

Why are people saying it would've been a pick in a real game?

It would've been the same outcome. Maybe Monroe makes the hit in a real game but it would've definitely been a completion

That toss was laser, accurate, and thrown with plenty confidence. Does that sound more talented than the past few years?

Nothing the offense does this spring will satisfy the rant. But for some to see that play and critique it like wasn't good play is crazy. It's OK to give the offense credit, when the play makers make plays. From the quarterback to the wr, that play has everything you want to see. Pocket presence to evade the rush, stepped up in the pocket, accurate throw in a tight window, catch in traffic, and speed to break away from the defense. It's only week 2 of spring camp, give the offense a chance to get better.

I certainly had no intention of being negative. And for the love of god I have no desire to run Texas techs offense, you’re getting pretty extreme here haha. I was honestly just marveling at the throw and watched the video like 5 times then realized the chart at the top saying the situation was third and 5. I’m sure ensminger was more just running plays then really dying to convert the 1st. If he was trying to pick up the first though, I see no point in starting a 3rd and 5 under center with clyd Edwards helaire in the backfield.

Don’t get never wrong, I am absolutely salivating over it. I was just a little surprised when I saw the situation was 3rd and 5. Looking back I bet ensminger was just saying f it, we just need to run some plays, this is a beautiful first down or second and short play.

2nd team defense, IMO. #93 is Farrell and #92 and #8 McQueen were on the field at the time. Don't get too happy. Nice throw but not against projected starters Fehoko, Lawrence, Alexander, White, etc. as far as I can tell.
