This ridiculous argument again?
Posted on 2/22/18 at 12:59 pm to Dawgfanman
No.
Millions of people can play violent video games and never harm anyone. It's a heart problem.
quote:
And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” But Peter said to him, “Explain the parable to us.” And he said, “Are you also still without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.” -Matthew 11:10-20

I think I might blow off work early for that new Stellaris DLC
That's one of Paradox's releases that I haven't played yet. I mostly play EUIV or Hearts of Iron IV - CK2 used to be fantastic but the recent DLCs have made it so, so strange.

Oh hell no.
ETA: Toddy, someone will have to explain that to you as I don't think you kind does that. I hope not anyway.

Sunset Invasion was like the 2nd or 3rd DLC it's always been strange

CS is nostalgia. i remember doing it way back when in high school
but i only play when i know i have like 15-20 minutes of boredom coming up
i play CS_Italy and snipe or one of the gun game servers to just go around and kill and be killed

I want you to explain how a keyboard and mouse or a controller is the same as shooting a real gun.
Maybe there can be an argument for lifelike games desensitizing the person playing. But that's still a stretch for the average person. Considering how much violent media is consumed.

You could just turn off Sunset. I think the last one I bought was Charlemagne or Ways of Life.

Yea, I recall that. I know it fit into the plot well, but it didn't sit well with me at all. I know it wasn't real (duh) but I just had my character walk around and I never fired any shots. Still progressed the plot all the same.
There was an option when you started playing if you wanted to play that section or skip it.
I remember they caught so much hell for that. I know its a video game but damn, how did that walk through at the developer go.

Nope, it's my right to virtually kill everyone on the server. I used to play CS competitively. Still mess around on CSGO every once in a while.
We should also do away with movie restrictions and adult site restrictions for youngins. Our rights! Why should our rights begin at 18?

Yep, and you could skip it or not participate if manipulating code on a computer system really bothered you that much.

It’s for the children. They deserve to live in a virtual world free of violence.
