He started hitting in the Fall. He's the very very backup infielder similar to what Strall had been the last few years. He brings more to the table as a hitter than Strall did (not hard to). It's probably unlikely that he'll get any real hitting opportunities (like a start at DH or something). He may get a chance late in a blowout game or something.

He was listed as a two way player his freshman year though and was a very good hitter in high school.

Not enough people talking about this. In a year where pitching seems to be thin (at least experienced pitching), I find it interesting that PM is allowing him to again focus on a dual role.

He has been inconsistent on mound and it gives him another way to contribute
He played mostly 3rd and ss at Dutchtown and hit in middle of lineup but focused on pitching when he got to LSU

It gives them a reserve infielder and if no one steps up at 2B he could see or compete for time, who knows.

He was his high school district's All District MVP his senior year at Dutchtown.....as a shortstop. He also pitched some.

He was recruited by other colleges as a two-way player.
