This is why we missed on Justin Rogers and will more than likely miss on Foster. No QB in this class because Coach O couldn't keep his plans to change OCs at the end of the season to himself.

How do you know this?

I think Rogers was committed to TCU long before it was known that Canada wasn't working.

During the visit Rogers spent the day with Canada and it was reported everywhere Rogers fell in love with Canada and his offense Etling also threw for 300 yards against aTm when Rogers came down with Marshall. After Rogers visited he was on twitter talking about he had a lot to think about and changed his twitter to an LSU them. Most recruiting reporters thought Rogers was on watch to decommit after his in home visit that following week. That's when the shite hit the fan when Coach O was talking about Canada looking at HC position else where. Next thing you know Ensminger and I forgot who showed up to Rogers home for his in home with out Canada. After that visit Rogers decided he was going to stick with TCU.

So he should have misled Rogers until he signed? It sounds like it was pretty much common knowledge with people close to the team that Canada was leaving. I'm not sure how you keep recruits from getting wind of this. It's better to be up front and not burn bridges for future recruits, imo. We're already battling some negative perceptions at that school from Brandon Harris' recruitment (as dumb as that is).

I mean, Rogers did have a good visit here, but we weren't going to flip him without sending Canada in home with him, and that surely wasn't happening.

Bottom line for me is Orgeron set us back a year with the Canada debacle. He should have hired Ensminger last year if that who he wanted. But I'm glad he didn't compound the issue by letting the Canada situation linger.

You think kids are not mislead by college football coaches on an everyday basis? How many oc's bama has replaced in the past 5 seasons? That hasn't compromised Bama's dominance on the field. That is because they have a coach who truly finds the best available coordinators. O knew he was going with someone who may be competent coordinator but was not the best as he claimed he would hire. O should have asked for forgiveness as opposed to permission with Rogers. If he truly believed Ensminger would be successful Rogers would have forgave him once Ensiminger showcased an offense that was productive. That is the point I am trying to make.

I don't know about that.

It is simple you produce on the field. In the case of signing a QB like Rogers we had no choice but to sign him and producing an offense that would wash away the bad taste in his mouth for misleading him.

I agree. Once they sent Ensminger and told him Ensminger would be running the offense it was over for us. Which is frustrating Rogers is an Elite 11 qb in our state that was near 5 star status and we lose him to TCU.

I think Rogers had a great relationship with Ensminger. Ensminger had been his primary recruiter since way before Canada was even on staff. I read an interview before Rogers' knee surgery and he talked about how much Ensminger meant to him. I'm not sure we were going to land him even if everything with Canada has been great. Remember the whole wrong cell number debacle, where Canada claimed he didn't have the kid's correct phone number?

I do agree that it sounds like he had a great visit and maybe he was thinking about flipping. But I'm going to stick with it was very unlikely.

It was a really weird qb recruiting cycle. Canada initially targeted Artur Sitkowski as his top QB in the class, and that dude ended up picking Miami, got benched (or at least had a shirty season) at IMG, and then ended up flipping to Rutgers. Then we never even offered Matthew Baldwin or Matt Corral, who both showed interest late in the year. Now our best hope is the 15th ranked dual threat QB, who we will probably off passing on in favor of another cornerback. Yikes.

Ensminger is a terrible coach? Not according to Aranda who says he's a better play caller than Canada.

What a stupid moron you are.

Other than being one of the biggest morons on the rant, what are your qualifications to claim that he isn't a great recruiter? Like how many elite 5 star players have you recruited to LSU, you moron?

There are some incredibly stupid people on the rant, although it's kind of encouraged.

Like the ones that think Ensminger is the next Lane Kiffin because he set records against a Missouri defense that was absolutely atrocious.

It broke a record, yes, but let's not pretend it was some huge achievement.

But be sure to call people names and everything if they don't agree with you.

So they waited to purposely leak false info and conduct a fake search just to fool the fan base? Does that make anyone else not like this snake oil salesman even more?

It was only morons who said there would be a search and only morons like you are dumb enough to believe there would be one.

The charter members of the Rant Diaper Brigade (All the 18 and Unders) don't like OWM coaching at LSU. OWN are not cool. OWM don't have Swag. OWM can't recruit.

I can guarantee 100% that the LSU Offense will be much more productive under Ensminger, Sullivan and Cregg than it was under Canada, Joseph and Grimes.

Hey, we'll at least see WR's reach their potential on the field minimum. (Just keep MJ out recruiting and away from practice)
