I was skeptical of the hire but generally supportive of O and hopeful for the future. Now it appears to be a train wreck in progress. I hope I'm wrong but that's my impression. The good news is that Aranda appears to be our backup plan. If that's the case, then I believe the sooner we get there the less damage done, but hey, I hope I'm wrong and O brings us 7 NC's and embarrasses Saban into retiring. For some reason, I just don't see that happening.

I'm giving them a chance because it's the only thing we have left. They're here, whether we like it or not, for likely the next two seasons at least. Just hope for the best.

For the record, I think Ensminger will do a fine job as OC. I just don't think his ceiling is as high as a Briles or Canada.

One of THE ONLY reasons I've pumped the brakes a bit is not because of who we hired, but the circumstances surrounding the hire. You fire Canada...if he truly was toxic then good move. If it was just Ed being stubborn then dumb move. Either way, you now have a situation where most of these kids would be into their third OC/offensive system.

O knows that he doesn't have much time. So, he doesn't feel comfortable bringing in a guy that has to not only teach players a new system, but build rapport. Sometimes that happens fast and the turnaround is quick. But that's not a guarantee. Time is short for O.
