The stories on Canada are all over the place. Not just at LSU, but from his other stops as well.

They loved him, they hated him. He was fired, he quit. They didn't get along, they got along great.

I'm sure the truth lies in the middle, but for a guy who admittedly wants to be a head coach, that's not a good look.

He's made a shitload of money, so maybe he doesn't care.

O is trying to put together a championship team, knows what it will take and classic Louisiana politics is trying to frick it up as normal.

Alabama knew its enemy in 2006 and that enemy was LSU. So what did Alabama do, it hire Saban and what did Saban do, he systematically attacked LSU because LSU was THE roadblock to wining the SEC. Now the roles are reversed and LSU is the hunter and Bama is the pray. We know Freeze can put massive points on Bama, Coach O has already proven he can gets the state recruiting back from Saban, we just need the administration to step up to the plate and make the call.

I'll be honest. I had to google who that was when my father in law told me.

See how that turned out? Now O is looking for someone to just say,Yes and fail without making him look bad.

The interesting thing with this report is that it really makes it look like O has been the reasonable actor in all of this.

2 things I see that hurt O and ultimately the program are this:
He is a HC with no equity. He has limited power, influence and respect due to his prior history. Some will say that's good, but he has to have the authority and respect to make some of these decisions otherwise he shouldn't be the HC.

The second is he has struggled to control the narrative with the media. Poorly worded statements have fueled too much speculation. He is not getting out in front of any of the rumors and it hurts him and LSU. It affects program image and will affect recruiting. Also, Alleva has made no attempt to help him in this regard and has left him dangling in the wind.

If they do fix the OC situation and get a solid hire, these two things need to be addressed or issues will continue.

Why if he has promised to change and you attach a compliance person to his arse he is and will remain the only TRUE Tide Killer.....

Even the coaches who studird under Saban have never beaten him why should we expect any other coach but Freeze to beat Saban?

All you have to do is not give him an LSU phone. Let him use his own phone for all communication. Problem solved.

Yeah it's a mess. Dave Doeren must have liked him, because he hired him at Northern Illinois, likely got him the job at Wisconsin, and then brought him to NC State too.

How convenient for you O-pumpers to shite on classic Louisiana politics when it was those same politics that got Orgeron the job in the first place.

Curtis Johnson has ZERO years as an offensive coordinator. Is our interest as a coordinator or a WR Coach in some expanded form?

All very true. This OC hire is the final piece to the puzzle. If it’s a home run LSU easily becomes the biggest threat to Bama.

I don’t either if you have zero input at all why be the head coach.

If this is true, sounds like Ed has a very sound thought process in firing Canada and hiring a New OC. It sounds like Canada is not a team player. if he really did Rat to Alleva.. The Head coach and DC should have input on tempo to form a cohesive game plan. Aranda may have been on board with the firing too, which is a good sign.

Lets face it our offense looked pretty dismal before the Troy game. Syracuse was one of the worst offensive games I've seen LSU play.

Some fricking nerve on this guy. Hire a guy, cut his legs off in-season, fire him, then get mad because others won't clean his mess up fast enough.

Sounds to me that Canada didn't want input from O or Aranda

If that's the case, he needed to go.

"O did meddle with Canada's offense but Canada also massively overreacted." "Canada is the one that went to Alleva when O tried to tweak his game plan for Troy" "The tweaks were less shifts and motions and more straight ahead football".

This was close to what I had heard from a few old players with their fingers on the pulse.... O had basically said that if you were going to use Brennan then let's back off on some of the fancy stuff.....also, O became concerned, on the offense because it simply was not working and producing the results promised at the time. It got skull fricked at State and Syracuse left a lot to be desired.

quote:

"O wants a coordinator that has an innovative scheme but will take input on tempo and protections based on the opponent's defense" "Aranda would be part of that input process. That's the reason Aranda was part of the meeting with O and Canada after Troy."

Apparently that scheme worked, because after that time, we really had no more issues running the offense....probably why Aranda is still around as well, he's to valuable to lose and maybe some promises were made.

I don't know what he thought he signed up for.

It's kind of like the idiom "born on third base and thought he hit a triple." O was gifted this job without earning it, now he expects to be treated as if he accomplished something? Of course he has limited power. He was put there to be controlled.

A HC should have a great deal of power. But they clearly don't respect him enough to give him carte blanche like a respected coach would get. It's all why he was a bad idea in the first place.
