Just got done watching Eposide I and II and about to start III (weather is crap in Idaho today) and yes they are still as bad as they always were, but part of me likes them more now. They feel so much more like a Star Wars movie than TLJ. I think the main problem with the phantom menace to revenge of the Sith is that we all had a story in our head about how Darth Vader became and the story they told was not near as good. However, that being said the average Star Wars fan knew about the expanded universe and how Luke became just an incredible Jedi and the crap story we're getting now is even worse than the prequel's. That alone with the SJW crap just makes these so much worse in my opinion Also TLJ makes TFA a worse movie too. Yeah I know another thread.

yes, it was a storyline that people could follow. TLJ was just an action movie

I hate the prequels

But Maul alone is better than anything Disney has come up with

Prequel Trilogy became Godfather quality simply with the existence of the sequel trilogy

But seriously, I understand why the prequel trilogy gets hate and I still enjoy it despite the flaws. We got to see what the Jedi were like in their prime after hearing about it for 20 years and they had some great CGI work. Dialogue and casting of Anakin hurt those films. Sequel trilogy, nothing can save what we've witnessed in two films

ETA: The prequel trilogy could have been sooo much more than what it was. I'll always be disappointed by what could have been.

I generally like the prequels, they're entertaining despite all of their obvious flaws. The prequels also felt like real star wars movies.

TLJ felt like a bunch of emo kids in a college film class were forced to make a star wars movie.

TLJ sucked.

But I can never get over the acting in the prequels.

The stilted dialogue never goes away despite TFA being meh and and TLJ sucking.

It's like a Commadore 64 wrote the dialgoue for the prequels. There's no life to them. I don't blame the actors...apparently they were given crap scripts by Lucas and told to act separetly in front of green screens.

That's not cinema.

And there's way too much going on...apart from Episode I. Never liked the idea that prequels will have way better technology than the so-called later episodes and massive CGI fights that never occured in the original trilogy.

Lucas should have gone more Ridley Scott and gummed up the prequels and slowed them down and enough with the damn toys.

It's just all CGI nonsense...overly-complicated plots and horrible dialogue that wouldn't pass muster for a high school play...but hey he's George, so nobody is going to question him.

The prequels would have been perfectly fine if had used the same formula that he had with The Clone Wars series. Come up with an idea and let other writers and directors craft the finished product while he oversees everything.

TLJ, and lets not kid ourselves here, is a legitimate billion dollar movie. And a lot of Star Wars fans hate it.

Instead of accepting that there are some legitimate gripes to be had about the movie the fan base has been labelled sexist and racist bigots. Congratulations on winning the battle but losing the war.

Gosh, nothing makes me more want to go see the next movie in a series then hearing that pointing out the Rose and Finn story in the movie was basically 45 minutes of filler makes me a bigot.

I am sure the next Star Wars movie will make a lot of money. It will do so without me buying a ticket to see it though.

Even with whiney, cringy Anakin in Atc, jar jar and some cringy dialogue, the prequels are a thousand times better than tlj, which is total garbage as a movie, and a total shite show for a star wars movie.

I mean seriously how hard is it to write a decent Star Wars movie? I've read too many start wars stories written by fans that would have been incredible to see on film. Also some really terrible ones. But you'd think with something like start wars you make sure the story is the best that it can be before you put it to film. Seems to me the TLJ was rushed to meet this 2 year cycle that Disney has put in place for each movie of this trilogy. Just a terrible decision. Why rush these movies?

This narrative is so ridiculous.

The prequels are not good movies. Episode 3 is okay. I don't know how anyone can complain that TLJ doesn't "feel like a Star Wars movie" while trying to redeem the prequels (which feel so much more cartoon-y).
