The problem is that by focusing so much on one or two position groups, you set yourself up for failure. This is what weakened recruiting classes under Miles too.
Also, people acting like LSU was just ignoring the OL and DL the past few years are either misinformed or its intent on saying whatever they have to defend Orgeron.
LSU’s issues at the OL are not because of lack of recruiting. They were about shitty development of OL and then the attrition it caused this year alone under O’s watch. LSU started the spring with 15 or more scholarship linemen. That is more than reasonable.
Grimes was just an overrated coach and O had issues convincing those guys to stay and instead let them leave or potentially ran them off.
You don’t have that type of attrition from one position group without it largely being due to the head coach and position coach.

Ok smart one, where are all those big time OLman starting? I'll bet most don't do a darn thing where they're going, and this isn't what I heard. They were let go bc our coaches thought they could rebuild it with much better players.
You see some coaches prefer kids that are good young men instead of kids who just want to use your school to get to the next level. Those kids don't care. We also switched HCs and so there is attrition which happens at those times, EVERY WHERE, so no it has zero to do with our coaches or staff.
I just love when people talk out of their arse bc they heard it on the freakn rant and now it's fact. I like our OL recruits much better than in the past so LSU needed to do this. LSU won some big games with an average QB, and injuries all along the lines of scrimmage. We played more freahman than ever BF. LSU had a very young team and coach O did just as good as Miles has been for half a decade now. Once he builds his team into the style he wants LSU will likely win many more games.
You know nothing
