If you keep a pistol in your center console of your vehicle, is that considered concealed carry-i.e., would you need a concealed carry permit for this to be legal?
In Louisiana, your vehicle is an extension of your home, so you do not need CCP. In New Orleans, and possibly other municipalities, the police will violate state law as policy though so be careful. If you mention to a cop at a traffic stop that you have a firearm in the vehicle, they might ask for a reciept to prove ownership and if you cannot produce that, they will confiscate your weapon. It is apparently a long, bureaucratic process to get it back.
My advice, keep a copy of your purchase receipt with your other auto documents, if you still have it.

If true, that is a total BS move by the police
