And with a fullback. IMO if he does that we go back to square one and he is on a fast track out the door. Btw this is coming from mike detillier a close friend of O. What are your thoughts?

I think O doesn't have a clue on what he wants on offense. Not a good sign.

O was scared that Canada's offense wasn't working after State and Syracuse + didn't think we had the personnel we needed for that offense with so many injuries.

I don't really fault O for getting cold feet when things started to look really bad even before Troy. And I kind of respect him a little more when he realized that was an overreaction (or was made to realize).

Like even some players have said, who knows if we beat UF and Auburn without that loss. Props to the team top to bottom for using that as a jumping off point to turn the season around.

Lol he has wanted the “USC” type offense since Lane Kiffin was in play.

O was in freakout mode. I think he knows that with a new offense and one so drastically different from the one they ran last year will need time to settle in. I think he saw that as the year went on.

LSU's offense under Canada had a lot of pre-snap shifts but when the ball was snapped, it was mostly pro-style power run play action that O can't seem to get out of his head from his USC days.

Well, he has a lot of 'thoughts' about offense, so that seems completely plausible. Geezus.

And, yet again, this is the problem with O as a head coach. You keep bouncing around from one offensive philosophy to another and you end up with chaos on that side of the ball. You start recruiting for one type of offense and then switch and start trying to fit round pegs into square holes.

I'd love to see a pro-spread offense. But you have to have pretty good pass protection for that. Are we equipped for this? I don't think we are yet...

And people want to say he has an offensive philosophy

as long as we start throwing to the TE more and throw a bunch of underneath routes, I'm cool with it.

There is a huge difference between Pro Style offense and what LSU has run under Miles, what we ran under Miles wasn't remotely close to Pro Style, that was just run, run, pass, punt. A Pro Style offense could definitely work if it is run correctly. You don't have to run the spread to be an effective offense.

Personally, I think it will be a big setback for LSU when/if Matt Canada leaves and Coach O goes with this type of offense. He says he wants to do what USC did...well, that's fine if you have the personnel to do it, like Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, etc. But what if you don't?

So O is going to go back to boring, ineffective offense like Chizik did in 2012. God damn

play calling is the crux of the prior issues, you can still do a lot of things from a pro set that we didn't do under Les
