Is spot on with his assessment. Just 5 to 6 years ago the A/V part of the game was much better. Here's a few of my thoughts:

A) The "It's Saturday Night in Death Valley" video played before kickoff was perfect in it's original form. They tinkered with it the last few years, first with Dan Borne doing the voice over, and now with Tiger greats doing it. It has lengthened the video and killed the pace of it.

B) "I'm From Louisiana". No one is asking you to listen to the full song in your free time, but it's perfect as a prior to kickoff song. The players love it, the students love it, and that creates excitement. It is something unique to LSU and no other college has that. What do you want, "Thunderstruck" or "Start Me Up" from the Rolling Stones?

C) We used to have a couple of cool video montages played during the games at times. A mashup of Nelly's "Here Comes the Boom" and P.O.D.'s "Here Comes the Boom" was nice.

D) The entire first half, anytime there is a dead ball is filled with corporate sponsors, guests of honors, etc. It kills all the flow of what's happening in the game.

E) Whoever decided to change the end of the 4Q events should be fired. We used to get a great moment in 4th quarters in Tiger Stadium montage, complete with radio calls of the play. At some point they muted the video while the band was still playing the Pregame Song. But now there is nothing but the band. Then was added the lamest "L" "S" "U" "Tigers" cheer ever. Try that before the game, not at the end of the 3Q.

F) What happened to the speakers in the South Endzone? Every fan in the North Endzone will have hearing loss because the volume for entire stadium comes from one end of the field.

G) The LSU admin has over corrected because so many people have complained about the piped in music. Now there is hardly any at all and the players just stand on the field chewing their finger nails waiting for the opponent to break the huddle.

Couldn't have said it better. The team used to get visibly fired up when it came on. I also never understood the "but not all players are from LA" argument. Who cares?.. every single one of them has LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY on their chest.

The first half was pretty miserable.
