I don’t think much changes. The 2012 class was not a good class and that game had little effect on that. Miles was being out recruited and if his offense didn’t change after that disaster it sure wasn’t going to change if it didn’t happen.

2012 had more injuries and more shuffle on the oline than this season.

They were one tackle away from winning the west. That season may have actually been one of the best hold the team together jobs Les ever did. I'd love to watch Saban win the west with 22 scholarship players missing.

I hate talking about 1-9 because it has been single the most detrimental event in LSU history.

Everything changes without 1-9.
Bama only had 1 championship (2009) before 1-9. Their dynasty had not begun and. Instead we were sitting on the best season in LSU history and our 3rd championship in 8 years.
If we win that day the dynasty that they are living is ours.

Saban's first #1 recruiting class was in 2011. That championship only solidified the run he is on. We've had several top 5 and at least 2 top 2 finishes in that stretch. it's not hard to believe that we would have had 6 #1 classes in that same time frame had 1-9 been different.

Kids would be lining up to come to LSU because we win championships.

Alabama would still be a good team but they wouldn't be the juggernaut they became. I suspect we'd have won national championships in 2012 and at least 1 other year (plus 2011).

And yes. Les Miles would still be here. With a statue.. And probably rivaling Bear Bryant as the best coach in CFB history. Saban would be to Les Miles as Urban is to Saban now.

but besides those things.. yeah I agree...

Another "fun" fact. Tom Herman was the defensive coordinator of the Iowa State team that rallied to hand Oklahoma State their only loss that year. With the way he's currently recruiting Texas he could be directly associated with 15-20 years of LSU mediocrity.
