Understand the injury aspect, but thought it was interesting that he’s saying he will put in Brennan is Danny is struggling. Especially after he said he’s not ready for SEC play a few weeks ago.

Coach is not going to wait too long to lose this game. He will do what it takes to get points on Bama.

I still wonder why LSU just don"t seem to want a duel threat QB? God we have not had a QB since Flynn!

I truly believe this will be their breakout game. I usually go back to watch highlights of whoever we're playing and noticed that Bama brings their safeties up to the LOS way more than last year. Assuming that's a sign that the DLine isn't generating that same push with just the 4 man rush like in years past. I also could see them down playing our OLine and going back to just the 4 man rush. Either way, I feel like this line will be up to the task

Not interesting. Not a nugget. More or less a slip up of words. Listening to it, it sounds need like he was assuring us that the backup is ready to go if needed, not that Danny is on a short leash.

That's how I took it... it's a comment on the backup being prepared.

Brennan will get eaten alive over there.

Riiiiiiight, but not Etlung huh? I don't get you guys. Yes, Brennan threw a couple of pics....imagine that. Etling, I might remind you, wasn't gonna start at Purdue, so he bailed. Let me repeat, Purdue didn't believe he could play at their level.

Just because he takes off running doesn't mean he's a better an than MB, it means his confidence in his line and himself is lacking.

This game is like the super bowl,7th game of world series. All hands on deck. What ever it takes to win this game. If it takes every player suited up to win. So be it. Go Tigers

I've been seeing some wildcat formations with McMillan in there. Would be interesting if we put him in and caught them offguard with a pass

because the "dual threat" worth anything is the great passer who can also run( Shea Patterson, Nick Fitzgerald) not the good runner who is a poor passer(Brandon Harris and every other so -called dual-threat LSU has recruited for as long as I can remember). I want a great runner and a great passer and that almost always takes two different people.

I got a scenario for you. It’s 13-3 at half. Bama comes out and scores a TD then we go 3 and out. Does he send in Myles if it’s 20-3 and we’re not doing shite on offense?

Exactly, the discussion afterwards will be around what constitutes "struggling"? And is it Etling struggling or some other problem? People will always say he should have tried Brennan if we lose. Even if it really makes no difference.

Yes!, this is the exact scenario that you would put in another quarterback with a superior and opposite skill-set of the one that has been ineffective. MB will bring an entirely different scheme and play calling to the Tiger offense. If DE struggles I think we have to bring MB in and throw the ball, ALOT. It kills me when I read some of these comments about our freshman quarterback not being ready. "OMG he has thrown an INT!!" He Sucks!! Yet you look across the league and you see four or five true freshman quarterback doing very well for their respective teams. Myles Brennan is the exact same size as Kellen Mond. And he has not gotten killed yet. Myles Brennan has the same or superior skill set as Jake Fromm, Tua Tagovailoa and Sam Ehlinger and all of which seem to be doing ok. I don't get the fixation on the fact that MB has thrown 2 INTs. All the quarterbacks that I've mentioned have thrown their fair share of INTs and they're still in the game, they're still productive and they're all doing pretty damn good as true freshman. Go back and watch LSU game film. DE should have at least 7INTs at this point and 2 should have been pick-sixes.
The day of reckoning is coming!!

Lets day for the sake of argument that Danny is 5 of 13 55 yds 0 TDs 0 ints, couple of sacks where he holds the ball too long and has 6 carries 14 yds.

That’s a very realistic stat line. At that point IMO- you put in the gun slinger go 4 wide with Sullivan (6’6”), Drake (6’4”), Chark (6’3”) Dee (6’6”) and see if we can pull off a miracle. Sprinkle in some slants to Davis and Gage and some screens to Guice and Darrell.

I think it's more of a call to Danny. He meant to slip in "if he struggles". He wants Danny to step up and win a game. Not play not to lose. Danny downplayed when asked about it. TBH I wish he would have owned it more. Faaak excuses and blame. Make plays and when this game. This can be a win for Danny that makes his career at Lsu. And if he wants a chance in the NFL he needs to shine against a team like Bama. Flynn had a nice career as a backup. Maybe Etling can get there.
