Poor whites still benefited from slavery. They were not the bottom of the social order and of course they benefitted from infrastructures and things that resulted from slave labor.

This is not true and no legit civl war historian condones this narrative. It's all lies that were taught to Southerners to endear them more to the cause of the confederacy.

lies? I straight up asked my liberal professor if this was true and he said it to be so, only the rich could afford slaves (was also in my liberal book).

You are hearing the narrative from the winning side, all i’m saying is that it was not just a holy war like the North makes it out to be.
