You are taking this out of context. Someone said something about it the Dallas-SF game being crappy. Some else said something about ratings being down regional I was pointing out that game is national.

As to your broader point I mostly agree all the factors you listed have hurt the game and can impact ratings. But there could be other factors as well including things you dismiss. For example maybe the election did hurt last year and the protests this year. 2 years still really doesn't tell us a longer term trend.

I’d be open to that idea if we just started having elections last year

People don’t watch cnn on sunday afternoon. The networks run a slew of politically oriented shows on Sunday morning and then it’s football
