And I was telling you that Southern has a University, and you cant use the fact that a 'black' university is somehow a bastion of academic excellence. Southern is a mess
Maybe so was Timbuktu?
I know what you're saying. My reading comprehension works just fine. What you're not getting is it Timbuktu was THE FIRST University. Since the start of the thread was about how black people basically on their own couldn't possibly Prosper or create any sort of civilized society I would say the Timbuktu thing completely destroys that point

From Wiki on said Timbuktu:
Not sure how that supports your argument. If you tell me that a tribe in the Brazillian jungle had a great high school system 1,000 years ago, then why hasn't their civilization advanced despite having almost no contact from outsiders at all. Meanwhile, man is landing on the moon. We don't have to assume that these two peoples are just equal.

The University of Timbuktu was unlike the modern university in that there was no central organization or formal course of study. Instead, there were several independent schools, each having its own principal instructor. Students chose their teachers, and instruction took place in mosque courtyards or private residences. The primary focus was on study of the Quran and Islamic subjects

Do you think that Arab and Black are the same?
Are you saying that Timbuktu University was founded by black ancestors of the current day slave progeny in America?
Are you not the least bit curious as to whether or not the Arabs started the University?
Do you even know whether or not any typically 'black' people representative of the modern black population in America were even in attendence at this first University?
Just because something happened in Africa doesn't mean that it involved 'blacks.'
Do you think the ancient Eqyptians were black? You know, the ones who built the pyramids and temples? Were they 'black' or 'semitic'?
I have always been under the impression that people from the African Mediterranean region were as much different from sub-saharan Africans as NFL centers are different from WRs.
