I have struggled with this thought, but Malcolm Jenkins is a great example to go off of in my mind. He showed flashes of brilliance, was defensive captain, streaky play and was often in position to make the big plays but rarely converted.. Let him go looking for greener pastures, Malcolm excels and has played at pro bowl if not all pro levels.

The Patriots argument is a valid one, don't retain over priced FAs is a good motto. But this defense could use some continuity, and Vaccaro is a starting Strong safety in this league. I think we should pay him as such, nothing crazy, but if you can get him at market value I think we should keep him. He played his arse off last week, and has had some very good games during the streak this season. Has also shown a lot of good tape over the years.
