When Lake Peigneur drained, a guy at work was serving as a reserve deputy for the Iberia Sherrif's office. Nobody knew what the frick was going on and he was rolling down Lee Station Road, crossed the bridge over the Petit Anse and saw an empty bayou, fish and crabs galore and a poor coonass waist deep in the mud trying to get up the bank.

He stopped and helped the guy up of course and asked if he wanted to try to get his boat. "Hell wit dat boat." was the reply. He did ask for a ride back to his house so he could go warn his wife that the world was coming to an end.
