I'll eat all the crow. I sat here after the Pats game and for the first time since Payton took over, I said we need to let Payton go and start fresh. I've been a big backer of his and put all my chips in on him this year. And after two weeks, I had given up hope.
After Carolina and Miami I thought, "Okay, those were two impressive wins but if the past is any indication, we're gonna lay a big egg against Detroit and continue our road to mediocrity."
After yesterday, I'm convinced this team is good. Really good. We showed yesterday that our defense and running game can win a game. We haven't been able to do that since 2009. Put aside the bullshite in the fourth quarter, we dominated the lions in a way I haven't seen in quite some time. Another thing this team seems to have in their favor is luck. Say what you want, but luck wins you games. We had luck with our bye week coming at the perfect time. We have luck with Rodgers going down the week before we play him. We have luck with the lions offensive line being depleted.
Overall, I think this team has the serious potential to go 9-2 down the stretch and head into the playoffs 12-4. This team seems to be on the upward trend and seems to be a serious threat.
