Someone else mentioned this as an option. Guessing it is cheaper because they let students do some of the work? Any clue on pricing?

I can’t give you the exact specifics on pricing but it is a lot cheaper and I will only take my pets there from now on. We have a spaniel and she had a really bag stomach bug. We took her to our old vet and after an afternoon of tests she told us she has pancreatitis and she will most likely die in the next month, the humane thing to do was put her down within the week. She also said that if she kept deteriorating she might actually pass that night. Ended up with a bill for $800 for 4 hours of “vet work”.

Took her to the LSU vet school that night and they said she had a serious infection but it wasn’t going to kill her and nothing was wrong with her pancreas, after several tests and everything. We ended up putting her in the dog ICU though and she stayed there for four days while the antibiotics and IV fluids and everything else kicked in. Ended up with a bill less than $2k for the entire stay in the ICU.

Obviously it was still a ton of $ but we became lifetime fans of the Vet School after that. Can’t recommend them enough.
