The play that we saw in the XFL can't be replicated. Too much has changed in our knowledge of the game.

Especially with the looming CTE crisis, a big hits league is never coming back.

Also with all of the best athletes locked in the NFL, OLine play in this new XFL would be atrocious.

which is why the NFL sees the concussion issue as beneficial to them. they have the money to fight or settle the lawsuit and move on

despite dotting every I and crossing every T an upstart league wouldn't be able to afford to defend themselves against bullshite lawsuits.

it's another barrier to entry. you absolutely can have an iron clad waiver and have people consent to such risks.

all the best players were in the NFL when the XFl started. the line play would be better for sure unless there was a talent gap in players across the line. the line play in the nfl sucks because they don't get the reps and practice. it's harder for backs to get to the 2nd level and qbs have less time to throw.
