I'm pretty sure if a recruiting services solicited, key word there, even for free, an invitation on behalf of recruit the NCAA would consider it an agency relationship (w/o improper benefits).

I know that's not what you're asking... but just in case.

In general the NCAA frowns upon any 3rd party in the relationship. Which does pertain to what you were asking about sending out invitations. That 3rd party can neither speak for the school or the recruit.

This is why 'handlers', i.e. someone speaking for or providing benefits to, a recruit are so sticky. It can be considered an agency relationship for future consideration.

Of course the NCAA hasn't gone that route in a long time. They easily could've with Manziel's "friend", but they chose not to
