You ever been to the rest of Louisiana? Covington is like Monaco compared to the rest of this flaming dumpster of a state.

White peoples dammit!!!

But yeah, people like to crack in that north shore area, but it's better than 90% of the rest of this shitty state

Because they don't have a curfew at 6pm for a Cat 1 thunderstorm.

Covington is for people who are too cowardly to move to a non-shitty state but also don't want to get murdered or their house to be worth 15,000 in 20 years.

Where do you live? Maybe it's because of the excellent school district that is St Tammany along with excellent private schools. Let's not mention the infrastructure and recreational areas and o yeah low crime rate.

One additional thing... there is multiple accesses to Covington. Hwy 190, 1077, hwy 59, hwy 21.... just to name a few.

I don't live in Louisiana, but can give you some positives for people passing through compared to other places in Louisiana -

1. I can spell it correctly the first time
2. 5 Guys Burgers close to the interstate exit
3. A bunch of Marriott brand hotels tucked in an area where I don't have to worry about my car getting broken into

I grew up in Covington. Live in Nola now.

I'll say, if you're married and/or have kids there's no question you move to the North shore. You'll save money on a house, your kids education, and not have to worry much about crime. It's a no brainier.

That's why people live there.

Well that and you also have the small town crowd that will never consider moving 5 miles away from their family.

Not sure if you just arent familiar with the area or not but theres alot of ways to get around. You have Hwy 190, 1077, 59, 21 and many others. I happened to live off the 1077 exit so I never had to really worry about 190 unless I went somewhere around there on a weekend.

Now why woukd we live there? Lets see... tons of shite to do when it comes to the outdoors, the area is very clean, its very safe, theres really nice parks for the kids, close to the water, small town feel even though its growing alot, we could get a newer home on a lot that was 0,9 acres and had green space behind it, had really really good schools, and we were close to under an hour drive to BR, NOLA, or Miss if we wanted to go.

I lived in Baton Rouge for 30+ years and have worked in NO for almost 10 years now. If you really think that Covington has bad traffic, you must not truly be familiar with traffic in NO or BR. Hell 190 isnt bad once you get about 3-4 lights down. Its really just the merge to and/or from 12 thats bad. Other than that 21 is only bad when you get to the construction which is certainly understandable.

Meh, you must not have been here long.

I made it from 59/12 yesterday after work to 8 miles down lee rd. In like 20 minutes.

Even stopped at artigues ans got a bottle of whiskey.

There are ways to get around, check out a map.

Kills me how people flock to live in any of those I-12 exit towns.
