This is stretching the criticism a little far here. He said he earned the job because he was specifically asked by a caller if he felt that he earned the job. Do you really expect anyone in his position to say "not really. I think it was given to me undeservedly"?

And do you want a coach who doesn't believe in themselves? "We're having problems right now and I don't think I'm capable of correcting them".

He's not a narcissist. If anything he came across as pretty humble in interviews when discussing what went wrong at Ole Miss. He blamed it on himself. He said he went to mentors and asked for advice, he said he looked at other coaches and decided to do what he saw players responding well to. A narcissist would have said "they didn't do what I wanted, they didn't let me coach, they didn't listen to me..."etc.

I'm not thrilled with Coach O and I'm not happy at the state of the team but this thread is not accurate.

Maybe say something like, I understand the frustrations, but I promise I will fight like hell as the head coach to improve this football team.

I want him to answer like a damned professional. "Well, I'll leave that for others to debate. Right now I'm focused on helping our team improve."

It's really not that hard.
