Lyndon was supposed to be a sensuous, ambitious flawed oaf which O' Neal personifies but it would be interesting to have seen a more nuanced actor in the role. Nevertheless its Kubrick's most enthralling film.

It's weird to think that there was a time when O'Neal was taken seriously.
