I think people asking these questions can primarily be grouped into two groups: (1) Those looking for some gotcha to support some conspiracy that will change to fit whatever they think is a gotcha, and (2) those (which u think is LG) who want such a terrifying random event to appear less random, and therefore predictable, and finally, preventable.

The problem is that hindsight and confirmation bias really requires us to ignore what we know and try to see it from the perspective of not knowing.
