I think I read where this is no longer the case since taller buildings have been built up around the terminal.

Good point, you also won't get the same photo without cigarette smoke.

False, depending on the time of day gou still get sunlight. Noon I believe, as the windows face south.

Not to mention, people cant smoke in there anymore, which made the sunbeams stand out in that picture

Not only that, those beautiful light beams are made mostly from backlit cigarette smoke, and today that terminal is smoke free.
