Highly doubtful FBI would be the first response to arrive at the shooter's location. Local LEOs or even a local SWAT team would be much more realistic, i.e. Dallas sniper murders.

The title to the OP should have been SWAT killed gunman, I think Alex may have said FBI but meant SWAT/Hostage Rescue.

There are probably several dozen law enforcement officers from multiple state, local and federal agencies that will have direct contact with the physical evidence found at the hotel room and the individual's home. I cannot see how anyone could suppress that information from becoming public. This guy's motives will be unearthed once his electronic and phone communications are reviewed in-depth.

If I take videos of me doing thousands of trick shots on the basketball court, you could focus on the few makes and say I was Globetrotter material, but by ignoring the thousands of misses, I'm going to undoubtedly embarrass myself if I you put me out there.
