No Passan said the Braves offered Waters a car to take an underslot deal.

Also said Coppy was very well known in the industry to be locking in underslot deals months in advance. The Anderson/Wentz/Muller combo in 16 was definitely a manipulation of the system.

Doubt they would have picked Anderson at 3 if they weren’t sure they had Wentz/Muller.

The Cruz/Toscano/Portuondo signings were very fishy also.

This one I actually don't believe. I know someone who's involved in scouting and I was told Waters had a very poor attitude during the process and that's what cost him in the end.
