no doubt. I still think there are a few public schools in the area that aren't nearly as bad as folks make them out to be, and they are unfortunately lumped in the discussion.

Yeah, I didn't mean to paint with a broad brush. We are zoned for hixson schools where as DamGuide said the middle and high schools are pretty shitty.
The elementary school however, is excellent and was a blue ribbon school not too long ago. We will stay at out current house till our kid(s) is done with Big Ridge and then probably move into a Soddy zoned area.
