Yeah, the rabble-rousing crowd either don't realize or intentionally overlook the fact that the market is always down prior to an election, hence the decline leading into Election Day. It was also wildly unpredictable until the end, which doesn't exactly inspire market confidence.
Still, I am surprised that the market's done well under Trump, so far.

The stock market had just crashed and he threw a a stimulus at it.
No president will ever "grow" the stock market that quickly again
