i love the midrange shot. idk about being top ten in the league in take that shot, but i don't agree with cutting it out of the offense

when he says he's taking out long 2s I think he means he wants to take out shots that have a higher risk with little reward.
so instead of having a heel on the 3 point line, take a step back and shoot or pass the ball/drive to try to get a higher percentage shot. they aren't taking jump shots out of their offense

By ingraining distaste for long 2's coach is dealing with guys who cant shoot. Everyone is given long two's. Half the players cannot make ft's at 80%.
The guidance should be in the face of bad ft shooters, thus, if and when you get your ft % to 80%, we will green light you to shoot long 2's. Until that day, if there are more than 5 seconds on clock and you jack up a long 2 miss, i will fine you $10. It will go to a charity.

But long 2's are a horrible percentage shot in terms of risk/ reward. And the long rebound usually doesn't go well.
