what if I told you that he wasn't AWOL, his absence was directed by Coach O and Coach O personally checked on him at least once a week during his absence?
Key needed to get his life straight and he did that. Too bad he had to have surgery after. The surgery is what caused him to be out of shape. He was working out everyday before that.

Sorry, I don't see how shoulder surgery caused him to be this out of shape and overweight. He could run, if football was important to him.
Last year at the same time, he worked his arse off and showed up in great shape.
As for rumors of "breakdowns" and speculation of this sort, that seems to be unfair and unproductive.
