I realize the nature of progressivism is that they have to always move on to the next item to improve the world. Fine. But, we are not really in a bad spot here. A black man was president for 8 years and I think most people are cool with gay marriage. Coming from a guy who was reading stuff like Democratic Underground every day during Dubya's second term, I can't believe what the left has become. The party that preaches free speech pushes safe spaces and censorship of anything that doesn't align with their cause. They went too far with stuff like tranny bathrooms and outrage every time a white cop kills a black man, without actually looking at the facts in each case.

I do wish Trump would have chilled out on the kneeling issue after making a few points about it. It has gone from some ambiguous statement about the treatment of black people to a free speech issue and I think he looks bad going berserk over it every day.

Yeah, trump needs to chill out on this.

No one should get fired for taking a knee during the anthem, it's not a requirement to stand.

I do think it's disrespectful towards those who made the sacrifice that gave them that right to begin with.

At the same time, it isn't as if it's a violent protest either. If it progresses to that then I'll be pissed. But I've been more lax about this than a day or two ago.

If the players do this, then that's ok. But be the element of change once your career is done, reach out to the community and law enforcement and your senators but do it respectfully
