Maybe here in SW Oklahoma you can live like a king but in any major area 100k is not living like a king.

I'm not searching but last week someone posted a link that shows what you need to make to be considered upper middle class in every State. The highest was something like $110k in NY/Cali.
I believe that was for a single person, not joint. Now the wife and I fall into the mid to upper 100k jointly in Atlanta. We don't necessarily live like kings but we can pretty much do whatever the hell we want and not hurt for money.
