As someone who pays a shitload of taxes so that others can have affordable healthcare, this is not an acceptable option for me.
***Edited to add, that this is even a conceivable option for a family that pays in as much as I do to support our government is outrageous.

Are you a church goer? There are some insurance risk groups set up by religious orgs you can seek out.
you won't be subjected to people like the dependent duncan idaho in those plans which is a bonus.
