I doubt he'll ever suit up again. Crohns is commonly associated with arthritis and osteoporosis. Definitely feel bad for the guy it'll be a tough road ahead
Something else to consider. Think about what we would've had to trade away to get Asik off the books. We trade him and he medically retires. I'm surprised it isn't going down like that, it's a very Pelicans thing to happen.
Also if he does retire do that technically make him an expiring contract??

No. We're the only team he can medically retire from for this.

All depends really. If he responds well to the medicines available then he could certainly play basketball. A whole season? No clue.
But yea it's a disease that will flair up periodically the rest of his life...sucks. And when it flairs up its pretty shitty.

Crohns is a bowel disease what does it have to do with bones and joints?
But it honestly depends on how severe it is. My Brother has it and he leads a pretty normal life and is very active.
