My family has recently joined an MMA gym since my daughter (8 yo) really seems to enjoy it.
My first class I "grappled" with a woman, a BJJ purple belt, and the instructor, a BJJ black belt for 5 minute rounds. The instructor just messed around and submitted me like 4 times.
The purple belt is a guy that teaches my daughters class is tall but weighs 165 lbs soaking wet so I have a good 40 pounds on him. Granted this a controlled environment and there's no striking but he also handled me with no problem.
The woman was a green belt so she had some experience but not like the UFC women. She also was probably closer to 25 yo and 150 lbs. I had absolutely no trouble passing guard or throwing her off of me. The strength is simply not there even compared to some of the smaller men.
Now I'd never say that in an official match one of these women in UFC couldn't catch someone with an arm bar or submission move. But in a no holes barred fight they would lose to any man over 175 lbs 99 times out of 100.
