Anybody see a problem with the image?
What the heck does MLK have to do with the study of our government? Was he ever elected to Nationwide office? Sure he influenced many things, but is he intertwined with the history of our entire government enough to make the cover of a textbook? I feel my kids are being indoctrinated every day, in every way, by a bunch of hard core leftists who are on the recruiting trail....and in an expensive, religious based school, no less. It really bothered me when I saw this on the counter this morning.

That phallic image to the right is also clearly pushing the homosexuality agenda.

The indoctrination kicks into over-drive.

Should be a picture of John Locke, Montesquieu or Thomas Paine.

I think OP raises a valid point and don't really get all the downvotes.

MLK would be better served on an American history text

MLK only has a half chub (washington monument). He should be full.

While it may not make a lot of sense, it would have been worse with someone like Marx or soemeone from that line of thinking.

The highest honor anyone can have is not Congessman, Senator, Ambassador, Justice or President.

It is citizen.

The fact that MLK - a citizen - was able to do so much speaks to the greatness of our nation.

It is, if anything, the best cover a book like this could have.

I'm sure the picture of MLK was done as a left-leaning statement, but it's not like MLK had nothing to do with American Government.

Why did they make his lips so pronounced?

He's a good picture/representation for a government textbook.

At least they didn't use Malcomb X or Obama and the title isn't Hope and Change. There's that.

I think they used him so that they could put Bill Clinton on a textbook in the future. Clearing the path for Wild Bill.

Sorry, but I wish MLK was around today and influencing in positive ways the black community. It's a lack of people of his substance to be the voice of a people that's our problem now. The only one's around now are rabble rousers to huck a buck.
