You have bucks, you just haven't figured out where they live yet. If you truly have very little pressure and when you truly find the bucks, summer and early fall you'll see them every day. That's why a lot of guys like to hunt their big bucks on camera as early as possible, because they are still in summer feeding mode. Once they start getting horny, they are not nearly as predictable until the full on rut.
If you aren't seeing them until the rut, that's because you aren't very close to them and you aren't seeing them until they are traveling further away looking for does to breed.
ETA: Also don't forget, that bucks will usually run in groups in the summer and early fall before they split up for the rut. So you rarely don't just see one early on, you see a group of 2-5 or whatever. They will run with does some especially younger bucks, but usually separate.
