Ain't surprising - There's a very legitimate reason that NO other college program wanted O as their head coach. Of coarse, our splendid AD Alleva tacks a $12M buyout on his contract to make sure nobody else tries to recruit O away from LSU.

If you ever had to practice in this state's heat and humidity, you would know when you're doing laps or sprints because you messed up, you're constantly thinking about how you messed up and how to fix it so you can avoid doing the punishment runs.

Beats thinking about how your body feels during the run.

Does running fix the problem? Not usually, but at least they will be thinking about it lol

Exactly, yesterday there wasn't enough dicipline now they are making them run to provide motivation and they complain more.

What I would like to see though is with this punishment, give rewards, something tangible, like helmet stickers, little trophies, game balls with a previous stars signatures on it (as long as it's legal probably isn't) maybe more family tickets to the games, more playing time or opportunities. The guys who miss tackles, get flagged, or create issues for the team by simply playing sloppy or lazy, make them run or even punish them in other ways.

If they are going to sqeeze them when they frick up then they need to have some good ideas for incentive to play above and beyond, something fun, and rewarding so they feel when they do well as opposed to when they frick up. Will make them all want to play in a much different manner IMO.

Get creative, these are young men, keep it fun, and motivate at the same time. Just an idea.

Methinks anyone running their mouth about having to run should get a few extra laps to think about how complaining =/= leadership

Devin White is the only one that should be exempt from running. He balled out until the last play.

Good to see the whole context. It's not as bad as this thread makes it seem (mutiny vibe).

O needs to hang this sign in the locker room.

I didn't see where he was complaining about running. It seemed to me like he thinks they deserve it since O gave them the opportunity to change the amount of penalties and it hasn't changed so something else had to be done.

Devin White said #LSU never had to do punishment runs before today. "Usually he treats us like grown men... but obviously we didn't fix it"

Usually, but we are in an unusual situation. This team needs to grow up fast.

This. Coach O gave them two opportunities to fix the problems without punishment, they didn't fix said problems so now they run.

I like it. As long as the coaches take blame as well.

Maybe instead of running they should practice harder. I don't believe in running for punishment.

I do believe not a single person complained. But I'm don't know anything nor do I gather facts before giving my opinion on a matter

The first 3 games have had way too many penalties. Run them or something else to get their attention that it's not tolerated.

SMH watching film, position drills and walk throughs all week is not going to produce penalty free football. Hitting and pushing each other around (actual football practice) is the tool that provides the practice field teaching moments.

It is tell the truth Monday though, and the truth is coach 0 (zero not "OH") needs to do twice the running he makes any player do.
