LSU already looked cheap with the way they handled the coaching search.

Maybe, but the reality was and is that Jimbo Fisher was never coming to Baton Rouge....he used LSU as bargaining chip and no way was FSU going to look at trying to replace a guy who won them a National Championship.

I know the man love for Herman on this board, but he had a tendancy to not have his team ready for lesser teams....sure he could get his team ready for OU and even FSU, but he would then have his arse handed to him by SMU. Plus he kept pushing the goal post further and further in the negotiations.

Another truth and this came from a friend who is an assistant coach at a Big 12 school. No head coach in the country wanted to touch LSU after what the higher ups did to Miles last year.....It was bad form, you don't fire a guy like Les Miles after twelve yeas by canning him after 4 games. It did not inspire confidence from potential candidates. He told me of at least 3 candidates that were approached who told LSU , "No Thanks"

Another Alleva screw-up by not letting Miles go at the end of 2015
