I know I am late to the party but finally caught this movie on HBOGO and wow what a freaking fantastic movie!!

Isla Fisher and Amy Adams in the same movie is like some ginger fantasy of mine

Absolutely enjoyed how the novel depicted the pain and suffering Susan did to Edward.

And Edward with the straight fricking alpha move at the end!

Michael Shannon was awesome (as usual). Interesting movie, but disturbing in ways that keep me from wanting to view again.

Im curious now, a few of you have said this.

I am guessing it's having to do with the very dark content portrayed by the novel within the movie?

This is a very thinky movie and the parallels of emotions of watching the woman you legit love not only divorce you but end the life of your child while in the arms of another man is about as dark as it can probably get for a man.

The novel within the movie depicted these raw emotions perfectly.

Susan by being the ultimate bitch unlocked Edwards true potential as a writer.

In return Edward got the ultimate revenge. His life is free and on the upward trend, while Susan will forever be stuck in a marriage that is empty and adulterous. Not to mention broke!

thought it was excellent

Aaron Taylor Johnson played such a great villain, almost made me forget his cardboard performance in Godzilla

Michael Shannon was, as usual, the best thing in the movie. He was just a force of nature.

Didn't like it the first time I saw it. Upon the second rewatch, I grew to appreciate it.

I like it a lot. It was intense. My wife couldn't make it through but not because it was a bad film. If anything, that's a testament to it.

I started this last night, left off at the car wreck/kidnap scene.

Very intrigued as to where it goes.

Done well, good cast. Personally, though, didn't get into it.

Nice art, though.

Finally watched this and thought it was a great multilayered revenge film. Loved how it was edited and shot stylistically, the score was great too.
