Probably stopped for the same reason Miss St stopped playing "Hell's Bells" on opponents' 3rd downs.
We played them in Starkville late in the Sherrill era, and it seemed like Hell's Bells was immediately followed by the LSU 1st down Go Tigers riff every time. Bells, then da-da-daa-da!
