re: What is the benefit of wireless charging?

Wireless charging is an added feature. So you can still charge through a traditional cable, but have the option to charge wirelessly as well. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the ability to charge multiple devices with only one mat/plug/cable. So if you have a watch and a phone, only need one mat.

I also like the ability that it can use universal charging locations, such as factory installed in a car, airports, coffee shops, etc.

Except for the glass back, I don't see the downfall of the added feature.
